hi. i’m mandie. i’m the owner and main photographer over here at sindisiwe photography. just thought i should introduce myself and tell you a little about who i am. so here we go…
the facts…
- i’m 19.
- i go to seattle pacific university. i’m a sophomore and working to earn my degree in global development studies with a minor in christian scriptures.
- i have 3 siblings. two sisters and one brother. 22, 15, and 6. i like being in the middle-ish.
- i like laughing. and taking pictures of people laughing. they are always the best for some reason.
- i am slightly obsessed with chopsticks. i eat everything with them in fact. except cereal, that requires a spoon.
- orange is my favorite color. yellow comes in at a close second. but orange is just awkward and lovely and so splendid.
- i think traveling is fantastical. okay, i’m not a huge fan of the whole flying and airports part, but getting to go new places is great. i have a massive list of countries to visit sometime in my life. so far i’ve been to canada, singapore, indonesia, malaysia, china, romania, and south africa. hopefully i’ll eventually be able to cross more off of my list.
- i am a huge fan of maps, photos, and national geographic magazine. i have a world map hanging on my wall and i love that it’s the last thing i see before falling asleep. and i collect old national geographic issues (pretty much just for the photos). steve mccurry, david duchemin, and ami vitale are some of my heroes.
- i can’t imagine doing anything but photography for the rest of my life. i probably won’t stay in seattle or be a wedding photographer forever, but i’m sure photography will always be part of who i am and what i do.
