On Tuesday 12 January 2010 a magnitude 7.1 earthquake shook the small nation of Haiti. The damage from the earthquake was devastating. Lives were lost. Homes and buildings fell flat to the ground. Access to food, medicine, and clean water became even more limited than it was before for many people. But it has been amazing to see how many people stepped into action that very same day. Several organizations are working to bring not just help and relief but also hope to Haiti. And we want to support them.
I’ve been hinting here on the blog and on twitter about some plans that Dorothy and I had up our sleeves. So here it is…
For two days in February we will be holding 30 minute mini-sessions to raise money for Haiti. All of the money from these sessions will go directly to a charity in your name. The charities we are donating to are: World Vision, Mercy Corps, and Save the Children.
We are offering sessions for seniors, couples/engagements, families, groups…whatever you can come up with! Each session will be $100 and will include: 30 minutes on location with both Dorothy and myself, a free 8×10 print of your choice, an online gallery of your images lasting for 2 weeks, and you get to choose which charity to donate the money to. After your session if you would like to order more prints or products you could do so through your online gallery. A portion of those sales will also go to support Haiti.
So clear out some time in your schedule on Monday February 15th (it’s a holiday for many people!) and book a session with us at Volunteer Park on Capitol Hill. Or if you live on the eastside, we will be hanging out at Belleuve Downtown Park on Saturday February 20th. Spaces are limited so book soon!
If you need more information or want to book a session, shoot us an email: info@sindisiwephotography.com or give me a call: 206.963.8676.
And please…pass this along to anyone else who you think might be interested. If we get enough requests we might add another day somewhere in there!
Let’s bring some hope to Haiti.
Here is the AMAZING flyer that Dorothy designed for us…she’s pretty brilliant.
