week three || on books, sunshine, and craziness.

Well week 3 moved rather quickly. It involved: lots of reading, photo editing, a trip to Pike Place, sunshine, hanging out with some great people, the start of my independent study project, some cool photographers, lots of emails, and, well, a new blog!

School has been going well even though most days I feel just a little bit overwhelmed with how much reading there is to do. This week marked the beginning of my very cool independent study project. From now until June I will be working with a professor to create a documentary for the school’s education department. I had my first day scoping out the main location this week and I’m looking forward to what this project brings. It will be a good experience, but stretching and challenging for sure!

While school does consume my life much of the time, I’ve been making more of an effort to connect with other photographers and learn more about the field that I’m in. This week I met up with Kate Ford for tea and some great conversation. I also go to hang out with Miss Dorothy Huynh of Red Slippers Photography and do a sweet photoshoot. {to any Seattle photographers out there: I always love meeting new photographers! If you want to meet up sometime for coffee, talk business, or go do a photoshoot just send me an email!}

Here in Seattle we have had some rather glorious weather this week. There has been some random sunshine and a lack of rain the past few days. Strange. But I’m really enjoying it and the opportunity to shoot.

Overall, I think it’s been a good week…
